What Is Vehicle Wrapping?

If you’ve been looking at your car of late and have started seeing signs of wear and tear on the bodywork, your thoughts might start turning to how you can give it a bit of a refresh so it feels like new once more.

One option is a full paint respray, of course, but this can be quite complicated and time-consuming, not to mention potentially expensive… which is why vehicle wrapping has really come into its own over the last few years and is fast becoming one of the more popular ways to breathe new life into old wheels.

The wrapping process itself involves covering your car with a vinyl film and it’s one of the easiest ways to go about giving your car a new colour or even a completely different design and finish. Wrapping can also be done to provide a protective layer on the vehicle if you’re not interested in changing its overall look.

The process typically involves measuring the car and then selecting whatever colours, graphics or finishes you’d like to have. Once that’s all decided, the vinyl is printed and laminated so it’s afforded UV protection, as well as protection against scratches and so on.

From there, it can be applied to the vehicle and away you go! It’s important, however, that you make sure you choose a reputable and experienced company to do business with, as application can be quite tricky and the end result may not be what you had in mind if you don’t use someone who has been professionally trained to do the job.

Correct and accurate installation is necessary in order to prevent water seepage, which can lead to rust if you’re not careful. If you’d like to find out more about the process, get in touch with the Wrapd team today.
